I love crocheting. I am trying to find time a way at night to de-stress and get back to all the things I love to do.
Years ago I was on a trip to Lancaster, PA and stopped into an Amish shop that had the most beautiful crocheted quilts hanging. I noticed this pattern and a woman over in the corner creating it. I was so intrigued and watched her for what seemed hours going back and forth with the ease of skilled artist. I made a mental note to learn that stitch. Well, guess what? I found out how to do Broomstick Lace! I happened across a tutorial on You Tube and decided to teach myself this stitch. Isn’t it beautiful? I sure think so.
I should confess that I had a lot of trouble finding a comfortable way actually work the Broom Stick Lace and dropped many stitches but with like anything else in life persistence pays off. The swatch you see in the picture is my first time doing Broom Stick Lace. You can clearly see the issues I had and how the rows got better and better. It’s a good thing I was home alone doing this pattern because when I finally got it I screamed with glee.
If you’re wanting to try Broomstick Lace I recommend YouTube.com I am a visual learner so for me it is exactly what I needed. I can start and stop at will allowing me to do the stitches. I just love it!!
Have you ever done Broomstick Lace? I’d love to hear your thoughts, experience or if your going to try this stitch.
That is absolutely beautiful! Fun co-hosting #HomeMattersParty with you!
