Penguin Oreo Cookies
Here is an adorable little edible craft you can do for any party or dessert! Get the whole family involved for a fun filled cookie extravaganza. These easy to make and adorable penguin Oreo cookies are perfect for a cute after school snack or for a winter party! They look great on the plate and taste great too. You can substitute in pre-made icing for an even easier recipe; with just 5 ingredients you can’t go wrong with these penguin Oreo cookies! Feel free to get creative! These would go great with a Happy Feet movie night or a winter birthday party, use your imagination and you’ll find these cuties will make a great addition to any party or event!
Penguin Oreo Cookies Ingredients:
1 package of Oreo Cookies
1 package mini Oreo Cookies
1 bag shredded coconut
1 container mini M&M’s in yellow
Penguin Oreo Cookies Icing Ingredients:
4 egg whites
2 C powder sugar
1 tsp cream of tartar
Penguin Oreo Cookies Icing Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl mixing on medium speed for 4 minutes. (Except your food coloring)
If icing is not stiff enough add 1/4 C powder sugar.
Divide the icing into two bowls.
In the first bowl add several drops of black gel food coloring. Mix well.
In the second bowl, keep the icing white.
Spoon the icing into two piping bags with a #2 tips….Be sure to twist the open end of each of the bags to push the icing to the tip.
Penguin Directions:
Separate the Oreo cookie in half. Leaving one half with the filling on it.
Separate the mini Oreo’s in half and remove the filling.
Use the filling side of Oreo for the white side of the penguin.
Using the white icing as glue put one half of the mini Oreo as the head.
With the white icing make a small dot for the whites of the eyes.
Add a smaller black dot for the eye ball with the black icing.
Break the second half of the mini Oreo in half and using the white icing to glue them to the white filling on the larger size Oreo.
Spread a thin amount of the white icing on the filling and top it with the coconut.
Use the Black icing glue the yellow mini M&M on it’s side for the nose.
Using the white icing as glue to stick in two more of the yellow mini M&M’s as the feet.
