:: Simplicity ::
It’s always an excellent reminder to enjoy the beauty around us. It’s everywhere. There’s is beauty in the simplest of things and if we aren’t too busy, that beauty can be a catalyst to a great attitude!
My life has literally been revolutionized by the word ‘simple’. It’s a mindset really. Our world is so full of fast paced complications, and a steady need for bigger, better, higher, brighter, snappier, more bells and whistles and more efficient ones at that! Customizable bells and whistles even. Ok, rant over. I just came to a place where I fell in love with simple. Sure, I enjoy technology. It is a blessing in my life. But I stop more often and am not caught up in what drove me before. There is so much peace in this place. I hope you are enjoying something today – something simple. Something homemade, handwritten, home cooked, something you’d forgotten or maybe a gesture offered that has no agenda attached. A conversation, a flower, a scripture reminding you of the vastness of God’s grace.
Here’s to beauty! – {And slowing down to enjoy it.} There is so much to be thankful for; I am always in awe when I take the time my perspective needs to readjust. Do you ever just need to stop and breathe? (or smell the roses?)
What has caught your eye this Spring? Has anything captivated your attention that you have never noticed before?
Besides being beautiful, simple things can be entertaining too if we are fully “in” that moment to gain all we can from it. Just this morning during chores I witnessed a horse trying desperately to convince another horse to be weirded out by a crying goat. And then, I saw a chicken trip. Really! A chicken tripped over a vine! (Have you ever seen a chicken trip?! – It’s pretty great!)
And I laughed. Today is a good day.
This is an awesome reminder to just kick back and take the time to enjoy the little things in life!! And I totally want to see a chicken trip now lol.

Come on over Robin! Mine seem to do it semi frequently! (should I be worried?) 🙂 Or maybe I should be concerned that I get such a kick out of it!!!
What a great reminder. Definitely need to take the time to enjoy the moment.

I want your bicycle planter! I have been admiring one of those for awhile but it keeps getting pushed to the back burner.
This is a great reminder to sit back and enjoy the view once in awhile. With the hustle and bustle of kids and work sometimes we all get caught up in the frenzy.

What a great reminder to literally stop and smell the roses 🙂 I think having a little kid totally puts things into perspective! Whenever we go on walks, he always exclaims “oh wow” at all of nature’s beauty! This is a great reminder to me to enjoy life’s simple things.

What a gift our children are and how much they just love life. Thank you for stopping by Meagan. Your comment made me smile.
It’s horrible that most people don’t take the time to enjoy the simple things anymore. It’s such a go-go-go fast paced lifestyle which is probably why a lot of people burn out easier and sooner these days! I quite enjoy taking the time to just go on a short (or long) walk; fresh air, beautiful nature, people watching 🙂

Hi Dawn, It truly is a shame but I think as long as people like us remind them to stop sometimes and just enjoy. They will 🙂 I hope your trip was a great success and you got a few minutes to just enjoy the ride 🙂 hugs.
What a lovely idea!

It’s so important to enjoy the little things in life! I’ve never seen a chicken trip before, but that sounds hilarious.
I so wish I’d had my phone out videoing. That would’ve been so great…. I just love even watching them run, it’s so funny.
Sometimes when I’m outside I’m so taken by this world we live in that I just stop in my tracks and breathe deeply. What a glorious world.

Thank you so much Ann! I find myself snapping pictures quick when a plant is doing well because I’m not always the greatest at helping them thrive. Thanks for stopping by!
Ha, ha, ha… That is just awesome… can’t believe you caught a chicken tripping… so funny. I laughed my bum off when I threw the dog toy down the steps for our dog and when she ran to get it, she fell right on her face… it is the little things in life.
Shauna – I can see this leading to you and I setting our animals up with booby-traps. This could either be great, or end badly. Let me know how you make out! hahaha

Wow, I was just saying this to myself as we are cleaning the heck out of our house. I was thinking we have too much “stuff” and I want to keep it simple!! We need to take a step back and enjoy what’s important and not all this clutter.

You are so right. We rush around as grown-ups and loose focus of the things that matter the most. Hurray for simplification.
Hi Sarah. Thank you for stopping by. It’s nice to be reminded of that from time to time 🙂
Here’s to living simple! I realized my new plant outside my door is flowering and I stopped to stare at it for the longest time. There’s beauty in all things if you just stop and look, slow it down and keep it simple

I’ve been cutting back on a lot of things that were “obligations” to try and savor these simple days with my family. Beautiful post.
