#LiveLifeOutside

When I have a day off, I love to sit outside and feel the lush grass under my feet. There is really nothing better than being outside, smelling the fresh air with a cold glass of lemonade in one hand and hearing the birds chirping away. Sadly, today, children would rather be inside playing on the latest entertainment device or watching their favorite shows on the television. On average, kids between the ages of 8 and 18 spend 7 hours and 38 minutes on some sort of electronic device. This is more than 53 hours a week. According to the (Kaiser Family Foundation)

TruGreen wants to help change that. They are encouraging us to spend more time outside and less time inside. There are so many benefits of playing outside with kids that it would be impossible to get everything done in just one summer. When my children are visiting, we love to hang out under the gazebo, grill up our favorite snacks and enjoy everything that nature has to offer. I even have one daughter who is a loving Rock Climbing she is unplugged from social media and enjoying life outdoors!  These are wonderful ways to make family memories that I will cherish forever. TruGreen wants to help families across the country have a wonderful summer and create memories that kids will remember forever.

Living Life Outside with TruGreen

TruGreen launched a #LiveLifeOutside 2016 Summer Sweepstakes. They are encouraging you to turn off the tablet and PC, play outside and create lasting memories. Share your photos and videos daily for the chance to win amazing prizes each week. These prizes are perfect for outside play and encouraging kids to get outside more. Each day, a child spends only 4-7 minutes of unstructured play outdoors, and 7 hours of watching tv or playing electronic video games. Let’s change that this summer! With the help of TruGreen, more families are spending quality time outdoors.
What are you doing with the remaining days of summer? For me and my family, we are going to #LiveLifeOutside!

Those remaining days of summer are going by WAY to quickly! Love being outdoors (as do you!)… so trying to just enjoy some peaceful nights on the back porch before the craziness of everything rushes in!

I love the outdoors. I take meds that restrict my time in the sun but I try to do as much as I can!

There is nothing better than getting outdoors. Even when work is consuming my time I make time to head outside and work out there. It can totally recharge you.

My kids definitely play on the iPads but luckily they also play sports and play outside every day. Everything in moderation I say.

Outside as much as possible. Even more so when we begin to have hints of fall weather.

We love to be outdoors and enjoy every moment that we can. The warmer weather has kept us inside a lot this summer but in the next couple months we will be doing a lot more outside.

I love spend outdoors, unfortunately it has been so oppressively hot where I live that it takes the fun away. Reading about this campaign makes me miss being outside.

I like the ethos behind Trugreen’s campaign as I think we do need to spend more time outdoors. My work is often outside so I have to walk for many hours and its a great way to refresh and stimulate the mind!

It is so sad that kids today are indoors most of the time! When I was a kid I was always playing in the playground. Even as a teenager I was always outside playing sports or just hanging out with friends!
