The Coming of Fall – Autumn Gatherings Fall Blog Hop

I am so excited to link up to these wonderful blogs and participate in the Autumn Gatherings Fall Blog Hop.

I bought a 1927 Foreclosure Home in August of 2014. Redoing one room at a time is not proving easy but will be so worth it. A judge in our town of Mt. Airy NC owned it and you can tell he loved it. I’m so thankful that many of those features still exist today. Like 3 Fireplaces, a huge front porch that extends the entire length of the front of my home. I also have the fortune of hardwood floors in many rooms. A few need work but we are sanding and finishing as time allows. The other feature I truly love is the old french doors that separate our rooms and the original wood work that was never painted over. I love that is it rich in history and has felt like a “home” since the moment I first walked in. But enough about that let me show you what Autumn means to me!

The Coming of Fall - Autumn Gatherings Fall Blog Hop To me fall means slowing down a little and taking time to enjoy all that summer has given to us. I love just sitting in a rocker and reading a few chapters of a book about yesteryear. Now a days you will find me reading The Love comes Softly Series from Janette Oke without a doubt she is my favorite writer.

I love how she transports me to a yesteryear where life seemed simpler and kinder.

Fall is also time for Autmn Crafts like Chalk Painted Mason Jars. We will have a blog post on this up soon.
Fall is the time to let your imaginations and your homey side flourish. In just a few quick moments you can turn a simple jar into a wonderful way to show off your fall plantings.

Just look at how much brighter just walking into the kitchen is. Mum’s are always a beautiful sign of Fall.
In fact my front porch is bursting with these beautiful flowers.

Fall also means canning in our home. I can as much as I have time for. That means a ton this year 🙂
I love being able to open a jar in the winter knowing that the jars I canned were canned with love and without any artificial.

That kind of satisfaction means a lot to me.

I love the bright pop from the mason jars mixed with the mums. I admire anyone who can can (not the dancing…although that’s great too). My oldest wants so much to make homemade pickles. I think we are going to tackle that this fall since seeing your post. Thanks for being part of the blog hop!
